Mitchell was devastated when she lost her friend Angela during a devastating automobile accident on the 11th of April, 1997. Angela had been 15 when she died. Mitchell composed Angela, the first song of her album. It was a tough situation for Mitchell. In the 7th Heaven Episode Nothing Endures But Change and in Chicken Soup for Preteen Soul she wrote about her experiences. The close friend of Mitchell Angela lost her life in a tragic car accident in the year she turned 15 years old. Mitchell found this incredibly difficult and Angela was the inspiration for the song Angel the song, which is on Mitchell's debut album. The novel Chicken Soup of the Preteen Soul along with the 7th Heaven episode, Nothing Endures But Change also mentions the incident.
